About
GiveBrick is a digital buy-a-brick fundraising platform operated by Tessable LLC. This page covers the things worth knowing before an organization trusts a platform with its fundraiser: how we make money, what we check before a campaign can take a single dollar, where the money actually goes, and — just as importantly — what GiveBrick is not.
One number, disclosed in full, with nothing behind it.
GiveBrick keeps 15% of each brick. Your organization keeps 85% — on a $50 brick that is $42.50, every time, regardless of how much you raise or how long the campaign runs.
Card processing comes out of our 15%, not your 85%. Supporters may also choose to cover processing at checkout.
If a future feature ever costs extra, it will be optional and priced on the page you buy it from. The 85% does not move.
We would rather you compare that against the alternatives than take our word for it — including the ones where we lose. See how the digital and engraved-brick models actually compare.
This is the part that costs us time and slows organizations down, and it is the part we would least want to remove.
An authorized representative tells us about the organization, the project, and who can authorize a fundraiser on its behalf.
We confirm the organization exists and that the person named on the application is actually in a position to speak for it.
A person reviews the campaign. Nothing goes live automatically, and nothing can accept a payment before that review is done.
Brick messages are reviewed. Supporters can request edits, and organizers approve them before they appear on the wall.
Anyone can take an order from anyone with a credit card. A platform that lets a stranger raise money in a school's name, or a memorial's name, is not a neutral piece of software — it is a way to hurt people who had no say in it. So campaigns are reviewed before launch, messages are moderated, and GiveBrick reserves the right to decline, pause, remove, or refund campaigns that violate our Acceptable Use Policy or where authority cannot be verified.
The short version: not to us, and not through us.
Payments are processed on Stripe and routed to the organization's connected payment account. GiveBrick collects only its platform fee and never holds funds outside processor rails.
Every supporter gets a receipt for their purchase, and a link to the brick they claimed. Refunds run back through the same processor as the original payment.
What is refundable and when is set out in the Refund Policy, not decided case by case. The Terms of Service govern the rest.
Being clear about the boundaries is part of being trustworthy about what sits inside them.
| People sometimes assume | The actual position |
|---|---|
| You'll send us engraved bricks | A GiveBrick purchase does not include a physical, engraved, printed, or mailed brick, unless a specific campaign page expressly states otherwise. Recognition is a digital placement on the campaign wall. Compare the two models. |
| A brick is a tax-deductible donation | A brick purchase is the purchase of a personalized recognition item, not automatically a deductible donation — unless the receiving organization is a verified tax-exempt charity and the campaign is set up with proper receipt language. Tax treatment depends on the organization, not on us. |
| GiveBrick is a charity | Tessable LLC is a technology company, not a charitable organization, a fiscal sponsor, or a grantmaker. We do not vet how an organization spends what it raises. |
| GiveBrick holds the money | Funds move on processor rails to the organization's own connected account. We are not a bank, an escrow agent, or a custodian of your campaign's funds. |
| Anyone can start a campaign | Campaigns are submitted by an authorized representative of an organization — a principal, PTA president, pastor, athletic director, executive director, board member, or memorial committee chair. Individuals cannot fundraise for themselves. |
Published, dated, and binding on us as well as on you.
